Elective Prize/Project Grant: 9 x £500

Deadline: 6 January (2 awards) and 6 May (7 awards) each year

Up to nine grants of £500 each are available, to undergraduate medical students at UK or Irish universities, who will be undertaking a research project related to dermatology or skin biology or an elective in the UK or an overseas dermatology department. Applications must be made before the start of the project/elective period.

The BAD annually sets an essay title on a topic related to dermatology and offers prizes of £500 for the winning essay and three runners-up prizes of £250 each. The prize is open to undergraduate medical students studying at a university in the UK or Ireland. The essay must not exceed 2,500 words. As the essays are not marked anonymously, please put your name on it.
 
NB - The use of fancy typefaces, colour, pictures/graphics, etc, will not improve your chances of winning a prize.
 

Intercalated Degree Grant: 2 x £3,000

Deadline: 6 May each year

Application form

 

Two grants of £3,000 are available to assist an UK or Irish undergraduate medical student with an intercalated degree which includes a project that is relevant to dermatology and/or skin biology. As the fellowship is awarded in the middle of an academic year, applications will be accepted for on-going projects through that academic year or for projects to be carried out in the next academic year.
