The author asks that through Christ's mercy his sins may be forgiven and through Christ's grace he may be led to eternal life.

A hymn to Jesus (RH, 1, p 599). The author asks Christ, who redeemed mankind through his blood, to protect him from danger and the plots of his enemies.
