Prayer, Deus qui dedisti.



A prayer to God (see folio 261r; BES, 3, p 1103), who gave the law to Moses on Mount Sinai and by whose command St Catherine was buried there. The author asks that through her intercession we may attain the mountain which is Christ.through the merits and intercession of St Catherine we should come to Christ ().


Deus qui dedisti legem\ Moysi in summitate montis Synai et\ in eodem loco per sanctos angelos tuos cor\pus beate Katherine virginis et martiris tue mirabi\liter collocasti tribue nobis quesumus ut eius meritis et in\tercessione ad montem qui Christus est valeamus pervenire. Per.\

A hymn commemorating St Margaret (AH, 29, p 112). She drove her [Christian] nurse's sheep to pasture; she disdained the pomp of the world, remaining strong in her faith and chastity.
