Prayer, Omnipotens sempiterne deus.



A prayer to God, by whose will, in honour of St George the Martyr, the dragon yielded to the maiden (GL, p 234) that we may be protected from our enemies, visible and invisible.


Omnipotens sempiterne deus qui deprecancium\ voces benigne exaudis maiestatem\ tuam suppliciter exoramus ut sicut in ho\nore beati et gloriosi martiris tui Georgii draconem a pu\ella superari voluisti ita eiusdem intercessione hostes\ nostros visibiles et invisibiles ne nocere nobis valeant\ recedere digneris. Qui vivis et regis deus. Per omnia secula.
