IT 1003 - ELEMENTARY ITALIAN 1

Pre-requisites

No previous knowledge of the language (not open to students qualified for IT 1503, IT 2002 or IT 2502).

Overview

This course is intended for students with no previous knowledge of Italian. It aims to develop basic communicative skills in listening, speaking, reading and writing and to establish a sound foundation in the structure of the language. There is an integral programme of self-study in the Language Centre which accompanies the two weekly contact hours.
3 tutorials per week. 2 hours per week private study in the Language Centre.
1 two-hour written examination (60%) and continuous assessment (40%) (directed at oral skills).

IT 1503 - ELEMENTARY ITALIAN 2

IT 1003 or other equivalent elementary course (not open to students qualified for IT 2002 or IT 2502).

This course is intended for students who have completed Preliminary Italian 1A or who have reached an equivalent standard. It aims to develop basic communicative skills in listening, speaking, reading and writing and to establish a sound foundation in the structure of the language. There is an integral programme of self-study in the Language Centre which accompanies the two weekly contact hours.

IT 2003 - INTERMEDIATE ITALIAN 1

This course is intended for students who have completed Elementary Italian 2 or who have reached an equivalent standard.
