Questionnaires are the most commonly used user evaluation method. However, when user evaluation questionnaires are used to evaluate systems with children, there is a tendency for positive results to be generated. Whilst this may be due to the high quality of the system being evaluated, it could also be due to a number of biases that can have an impact on children’s responses, making children more likely to respond positively. The seminar discusses optimal responding and how this can be improved through designing user evaluation questionnaires for children to reduce the impact of biases.
