Research

HSRU shared strategic research objectives with the Institute of Applied Health Sciences are to evaluate healthcare interventions, improve research practice and design better healthcare. In pursuit of this remit, the Unit has established a portfolio of health services research focusing on two main programmes

The delivery of the research in both programmes is underpinned and informed by knowledge synthesis and methodological research.

Patient and public involvement and engagement is central to all of our research.  Within our methodological research programme we also undertake research into patient and public involvement.

The Health Services Research Unit co-hosts the Centre for Healthcare Randomised Trials (CHaRT) a UKCRC registered clinical trials unit.

The Unit's work is characterised by being collaborative and multidisciplinary. This involves a range of local, national and international partners.

Examples of our recent impact and achievements can be seen here.
