This MRC Network of Hubs for Trials Methodology Research funded project aims to address inefficiencies in the design and conduct of randomised controlled trials. The project will commence with a 1-day workshop with key stakeholders to reach agreement on the key stages of the trial pathway (points on the path from trial idea to implementation of results into practice). It is then aimed to develop a large-scale proposal to collate and organise existing trial methodology evidence, supplement it with case studies and operational experience from trialists to maximize the evidence-based design of trials.
