Trials Methodology Research Partnership Webinar – PPI in numerical aspects of trials (PoINT) Presented by Beatriz Goulao on behalf of the Health Research Board Trials Methodology Research Network

Trials and key decisions related to their design, conduct and interpretation are often related to numerical aspects (such as, the difference we look for between treatments). Statistics and numerical aspects remain a key challenge to meaningful patient and public involvement in trials, given their technical nature and challenging communication. Our work in Patient and public Involvement in Numerical aspects of Trials (PoINT) has focused on researching public partner's views on this topic, finding out what makes involving patients and the public in numerical aspects challenging and what can help achieve it from trialist's perspectives, and prioritise the numerical aspects in trials that are the most relevant. This webinar will present the results of our work and discuss future steps.
