Explorathon 2017 - the 'Explorapolo' trial
-

This is a past event

HSRU's Public Engagement Group (PEG) will be 'science busking' in Aberdeen's Golden Zone (outside M&S in Aberdeen city centre) this Friday as part of Explorathon 2017.

The PEG team will be running ‘Explorapolo’ – a trial comparing randomisation to fruit or mint polos allocated by ‘blind’ ball pool ball selection.  Participants – members of the public entering into the Golden Zone – will be invited to take part, get to ‘ring the randomisation bell’, and chat further about our work at HSRU. They may also have their photo taken with 'James Lind' (the wig has arrived, costume from Scottish Opera to follow – kindly supported by funding from Marie Curie Alumni Association). The rest of the group will be dressed as sailors and scientists and will have jars of James Lind’s original scurvy remedies (x6) to hand to talk about the development of clinical trials, etc.  It will be a lot of fun!

If you would like to find out more about our activity, please contact Heather Morgan (details below).

You can see further info and some pictures of our very own Gordon Fernie dressed as pioneer clinical trialist, James Lind, from last year here: http://www.explorathon.co.uk/aberdeen. We engaged with over 500 good folks of Aberdeen that day with ‘Explorachoc’ (a popular chocolate trial) and the sun shone!
