Biography: Son of Thomas Clapperton; born Fochabers, 10 December 1883. M.B., 1907. Aberdeen University Troop (Scottish Horse), R.A.M.C. (Volunteer). War work-British Red Cross, Rutland, 1914-16. Commissioned , R.A.M.C., October 1916. Served-France, October 1916-November 1918. Final rank, Captain. Military Cross, September 1918. Mentioned in despatches, November 1918.
