Biography: Son of John Brander; born Dufftown, 29 February 1880. M.A., 1899; M.B., 1903; M.D. (com.), 1906. Corporal, ‘U’ Company, 1st Volunteer Battalion, Gordon Highlanders, 1897-1900. Captain, R.A.M.C, 1 June 1916. Home service, War Hospital, Keighley, 1916-19. Final rank, Major. Mentioned in despatches, 1919.
