Biography: Son of George Barron; born New Byth, 17 August 1894. Arts, 1913-14. Private, 'U' Company, 4th Gordon Highlanders, November 1913; commissioned, 7th Gordon Highlanders, 26 October 1915; transferred to R.A.F., February 1918. Served - Home, 2 years 3 months; France, Belgium, 2 years 2 months. Final rank, Lieutenant. Military Cross, August 1917.
