Stephen, Herbert Ingram

Biography: Son of James Stephen and of Ann Stephen (nee Harper), of Rothienorman; born Rothienorman, 1920 ; educated at Inverurie Academy. In 1940 he graduated B.Sc. (Agr.). Called up in 1940, he joined the Royal Air Force and after training was attached to Fighter Command and sent to North Africa in 1942. Returning to this country in 1943 he was transferred to Bomber Command and shared in several operations. He lost his life in a flying accident on 11 April 1944.
