Rowton, Geoffrey Allen

Biography: Son of Lieutenant-Commander Harold S. Rowton and Ethel M. Rowton, Aberdeen ; born Fleetwood, 1913 ; educated at Aberdeen Grammar School. He entered Peterhouse, Cambridge, and graduated B.A. in 1934. Thereafter he took the LL.B. degree at Aberdeen in 1937 and served his law apprenticeship with Messrs. Gray & Connochie, Aberdeen. Commissioned in the Gordon Highlanders, he was stationed in this country till January 1943 when he went to India and served in the Arakan campaign with an Anti-Tank Regiment. On 4 February 1945 he died of wounds received in action near Mandalay and is buried in the British Military Cemetery there.
