Rose, Gilbert Wolridge

Biography: Son of the late Dr. Rose, Rubislaw Terrace, Aberdeen ; born Aberdeen, 27 August 1892 ; educated at Aberdeen Grammar School. In 1915 he graduated M.B., Ch.B. and was commissioned in the Royal Army Medical Corps, serving during the first world war in Gallipoli and Mesopotamia. Later he was stationed in Egypt and India. In 1939 he was M.O. at the Guards' Depot. He went to France with the 1st Field Ambulance, and after Dunkirk was posted to Malta where he remained over two years. After D-Day he again went to France to take charge of a hospital, and held a similar position in India from December 1944. He died on active service at Ahmadnagar on 21 April 1946.
