Rennie, William Benton

Biography: Son of the late James Rennie and Barbara Benton Rennie, Milton of Fintry, Aberdeenshire; born at Milton of Fintry, 20 September 1884; educated at Aberdeen Grammar School. In 1908 he graduated M.B., Ch.B and in the following year joined the Royal Army Service Corps. He was later posted to India, serving in the first world war in Mesopotamia and gaining the M.C. In India he held several important positions till his retirement in 1941. Later he was recalled to the service of Officer Commanding the British Military Hospital at Wellington in South India, and this appointment he held until his death on 4 July 1943.
