Reid, George Biddie

Biography: Son of James and Helen Reid, Leslie Road, Aberdeen ; born Cornhill, Banffshire, 1919 ; educated at Keith Grammar School. In 1939 he graduated M.A. with Honours in English. He joined the Gordon Highlanders and was commissioned with the Duke of Wellington's Regiment, being afterwards transferred to the Green Howards. In 1941 he entered the Royal Air Force, and after being trained and commissioned he was sent to the Middle East. Here he met his death during flying operations in August 1943.
