Mutch, John

Biography: Son of Mrs. Mutch, 81 Duthie Terrace, Aberdeen ; born Cove, Kincardineshire, 30 December 1892 ; educated at Aberdeen Central School. At the outbreak of the first world war he joined the Gordon Highlanders, being afterwards transferred to the Royal Engineers and winning the M.C. In 1919 he graduated M.A. and later worked with the Air Ministry, being attached to the educational staff of the Royal Air Force. In September 1939 he was promoted Squadron Leader. He died in hospital while on service on 1 May 1941.
