Biography: Son of A. J. Munro, Alness, Ross-shire ; born Alness, 1919 ; educated at Tain Academy. In 1938 he graduated M.A. with Honours in Modern Languages and was for a year at the Training Centre. On the outbreak of war he joined the Seaforth Highlanders. He was wounded in North Africa, but returned to his unit and took part in the in vasion of France. He was killed in action in Germany on 11 February 1945. He is buried near the Reichswald Forest.
