Biography: Son of J. Mordan, Kingsmills, Elgin ; born Elgin, 1922 ; educated at Elgin Academy. He began an Arts course at the University in 1939. In 1941 he joined the Royal Air Force and was soon carrying out operational duties. He took part in several actions off the North African coast, and was posted missing after air operations on 8 August 1944. He was presumed killed on that date.
