Milne, Andrew Gordon

Biography: Son of Andrew Milne, Classical Master at Aberdeen Grammar School and Mary Eleanor Milne (nee Ross); born Aberdeen, 1918 ; educated at Aberdeen Grammar School. At the University he took a prominent part in its activities, especially in dramatic work, before graduating M.A. in 1938. Volunteering for service in the Royal Air Force, he was called up in 1940 and after training given his commission. On 20 September 1941 he was reported missing after a raid on Berlin, his plane having been brought down near Rheine in Westphalia.
