Mair, George

Biography: Son of the late George and Isabella Mair, Dufftown ; born Dufftown, 1913 ; educated at Mortlach Secondary School. In 1936 he graduated M.A. and subsequently became a member of the staff of Macduff High School. After training he was sent to the Far East. In 1941 he was reported missing, and it was later learned that he had been taken prisoner by the Japanese and had died in a prison camp in Java.
