Biography: Son of Angus and Morag Mackenzie, Achiltibuie, Ross-shire ; born Achiltibuie, 1 January 1919 ; educated at Dingwall Academy. He began an Arts course at the University in 1938. On the outbreak of war he joined the Royal Navy and trained as a Seaman. He was drafted to H.M.S. Repulse, and lost his life on 10 December 1941 when his ship was sunk off the Malay coast.
