Geddes, Alexander McPherson

Biography: Son of Alexander E. Geddes, Lecturer in Natural Philosophy at the University and of Helen Isobel Geddes (nee Anderson), Aberdeen; born Aberdeen, 8 June 1921 ; educated at Aberdeen Grammar School. He attended the Planters' Course at the College of Agriculture and at the same time was a member of the University Air Squadron. In 1942 he entered the Royal Air Force and was trained as a Navigator in Canada. Returning to this country he received further training and had been on operations for only three weeks when his plane was lost over Kiel Bay on 18 April 1944.
