Biography: M.A., D.D., LL.D., Litt.D., F.B.A. Honorary Chaplain, Territorial Force, 1st Class, with rank of Colonel, A.U.O.T.C. (Medical Contingent), 1916-1919. Final rank, Chaplain, 1st Class. War work - On the invitation of Sir Douglas Haig gave addresses to Scottish Troops, Bases and Front, France, October 1916. On the invitation of the National Committee of the United States (Government Department of Public Instruction) and of the Foreign Office, London, addressed 127 Public Meetings and Conferences on the moral aims of the Allies in 39 cities of the United States, April-July 1918. Principal and Vice-Chancellor, 1909-1935.
