Biography: Son of William W. Alexander; born Gardenstown, 8 May 1898. Medicine 1916-19. Cadet A.U.O.T.C.; Private, 4th Gordon Highlanders, 15 November 1916; commissioned, May 1917. Served - Home, June-December 1917; British Expeditionary Force (6th Gordon Highlanders), December 1917-February 1919. Final rank, Lieutenant.
