Biography: Son of Shafto Lewis Agassiz; born Bertie, Canada, 31 October 1887. M.B., 1908; D.P.H., 1910; M.D. (Hons.), 1912; M.R.C.P. (London), 1914. Lieutenant, R.A.M.C. (T.F.), April 1910. Joined 89th (1/1st Highland) Field Ambulance, August 1914. Served - Home, 1914-15, 1916-17, 1918-19; Gallipoli, March-October 1915; France, February 1917 -April 1918. Final rank, Acting Major. Military Cross, August 1917. Bar to M.C., December 1917.
