Biography: Son of William Mutch; born Cove, Kincardineshire, 19 September 1894. Arts, 1912-14. Private, 4th Gordon Highlanders, 1911. Mobilized, 4 August 1914. Transferred to Royal Engineers (Signal Company), 51st (Highland) Division Commissioned, Signal Company. 32nd Division, 2 July 1916. Served-Home, 1914-15; France, May 1915 - May 1919. Final rank, Lieutenant. Military Cross, 1919.
