Biography: Son of James Murray; born Aberdeen, 18 February 1881. M.A. (II English), 1902. Gunner, Royal Garrison Artillery, March 1917; commissioned, January 1918. Served-Home, 1917-18; France, March-December 1918. Final rank, 2nd Lieutenant.
