Biography: Son of James Murray; born Smyrna, 28 September 1898. M.A., 1919. Private, 8th Cameron Highlanders, 4 April 1917. Served with, 13th, 4th, Argyll and Sutherland Highlanders, 10th Seaforth Highlanders Commissioned, Yorkshire Regiment, 11 September 1918; attached 28th Durham Light Infantry; Home service, 1917-19. Final rank, 2nd Lieutenant.
