Biography: Son of Robert Murray; born Aberdeen, 21 April 1880. M.B. (Honours), 1901; M.D., 1905. Surgeon, Royal Navy Voluntary Reserve, February 1909. Mobilized, 2 August 1914. Served in H.M.H. ships, "Rohilla," "Garth Castle," H.M.S. "Eaglet," North Sea, Mediterranean. Final rank, Commander. Mentioned in despatches, August 1919.
