Biography: Son of John Murray; born Aberdeen, 17 January 1888. M.A., 1911. Private, 4th Gordon Highlanders (T.F.). Commissioned, 28 May 1917; transferred to North Scottish Royal Garrison Artillery (T.). Served-Home, 1914-15, 1917-19; France, November 1915-September 1916. Final rank, Lieutenant.
