Biography: Son of Peter Murray; born Aberdeen, 23 July 1880. M.A. (II Classics), 1903. Private, 13th Argyll and Sutherland Highlanders, June 1916. Served with 4th, 9th, Gordon Highlanders; commissioned, January 1917. Home, 1916-17, 1918; France, Belgium, July 1917-March 1918, August 1918-January 1919. Final rank, Lieutenant.
