Biography: Son of George Mortimer; born Paisley, 26 November 1875. Arts, 1898-99. Enlisted, 6th The Black Watch, 17 November 1914. Served with 2/6th Black Watch, 1914-17; 51st Battalion. Devon Regiment, 1917-18; 5th Black Watch, 1918-19. Final rank, Company Quarter Master Sergeant.
