Monro, Alexander James Falconer
Biography: Son of Alexander Monro; born Fraserburgh, 22 January 1885. M.A., 1906. Private, U Company, Gordon Highlanders, 1902. 2nd Lieutenant, 4th Gordon Highlanders, October 1914; attached to 12th, 9th, 'West Riding Regt. (Duke of Wellington's Own). Served-Home; France, April-June, 1915, April-November 1916, March-June 1917. Final rank, Captain. War work-Local Government Board, repatriation, British Civilian Prisoners of War, 1918-19. Order of the British Empire.
