Donaldson, John

Biography: Son of the late Isaac Donaldson and Christina Donaldson, Ardross, South Deeside Road, Aberdeen; born 1913 ; educated at Aberdeen Grammar School. He matriculated in Agriculture at the University and gained practical experience at Craibstone before entering Dunecht Estate Office. In 1934 he became Burgh Factor of Kirkcaldy. As a territorial he was called up at the beginning of the war, and for two years served in the Coastal Defence section of the Royal Artillery. He was then transferred to the Field Artillery and sent out to North Africa in March 1943, meeting his death in a road accident on 1 May 1943.
