Biography: Son of John H. Moir; born Newhall, Derbyshire, 14 February 1886. M.B., 1907; Diploma Public Health, 1908; M.D., 1911. Lieutenant, R.A.M.C., 13 April 1915; attached 20th General Hospital, 17th Field Ambulance, 1st Field Artillery Brigade, 17th Royal Fusiliers. Served-France, May 1915-Sept 1916, May 1917-November 1918; Salonika, December 1916-May 1917. Final rank, Captain. Distinguished Service Order, March 1919. Military Cross, November 1916. Bar to Military Cross, April 1918.
