Biography: Son of Patrick Mitchell; born Old Rayne, 8 December 1886. M.B., 1909; Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons (Edinburgh), 1911. Captain, 5th Mounted Brigade Field Ambulance, November 1914. Officer in Command, Military Hospital for German Prisoners of War; Military Hospital, Windhuk, South-West Africa. Final rank, Captain.
