Biography: Son of Owen R. Mitchell; born Aberdeen, 20 March 1886. M.B., 1907; B.Sc. (Spec, dist.), 1909; M.D., 1912; Diploma in Public Health (Camborn), 1909. Lieutenant, R.A.M.C., 21 May 1915; attached 3rd Essex Regement, St. John's Military Hospital, 4th Northumberland Fusiliers, Harwich Garrison. Served- Home, 1915, 1918; Malta, 1915-16; France, Flanders, 1916, 1918. Final rank, Captain.
