Biography: Son of John Milne; born Braemar, 21 December 1876. Arts, 1894-96. Joined University Battery Aberdeen Artillery, 1892. Private, 7th Volunteer Battalion Gordon Highlanders, 1900; commissioned, 1904. Mobilized, 4 August 1914. Served with, 2/4th Gordon Highlanders Home, France (3 years), 1914-19. Final rank, Major. Military Cross, December 1916. T.D., January 1919. Mentioned in despatches, November 1917.
