Biography: Son of William Milne; born Aberdeen, 13 October 1883. M.A. (I Classics.), 1906; D.Litt. (Rennes), 1912. Private, R.A.M.C. (T.), 25 August 1915; 3/1st Lowland Field Ambulance, 5th Scottish Rifles; commissioned, 1 March 1917. Home service. Final rank, Acting Captain.
