Biography: Son of John Middleton; born Aberdeen, 14 January 1853. M.A. (II Math.), 1873; M.B. (Honours), Glasgow, 1876; M.D. (Honours), 1884; F.R.F.P.S. (Glasgow), 1893. Joined R.A.M.C. (T.F.), 1908. Mobilized Lieutenant-Colonel, August 1914. Attached to 4th Scottish General Hospital, Glasgow, 1914-19. Final rank, Lieutenant Colonel.
