Biography: Son of William Melvin; born Aberdeen, 16 August 1877. Arts, 1898-99. 2nd Lieutenant, Indian Army Reserve, 22 August 1916; attached to 1st King George's Own Sappers and Miners Served-India (North West Frontier, Central), South Persia, October 1916-April 1919. Final rank, Acting Captain.
