Biography: Son of William F. Melvin; born Bombay, 3 January 1880. M.B., 1903. War work-Special Constable, 1914-16, Clapham, Yorkshire Lieutenant, R.A.M.C., July 1917; attached to147th Field Ambulance; R.M.O., 1/5th Somerset Light Infantry. Served-Egypt, August-October 1917; Palestine, October 1917-June 1918. Final rank, Captain.
