Biography: Son of John MacRae; born Contin, 30 August 1886. M.A. (I Ment.), 1909; Hutton Prize; Bain Medal; Fullerton Scholar. Oxford University Officer Training Corps Commissioned, 4th Cameron Highlanders, 28 April 1915; attached 5th Cameron Highlanders Served-Home, France, 1915-18. Final rank, Acting Captain.
