Fettes College Officier Training Corps, A.U.O.T.C. 2nd Lieutenant, 8th Northumberland Fusiliers, 28 March 1917. Served-, Home, 1917; France, June 1917-September 1918. Final rank, Lieutenant. Military Cross, February 1918.
