Biography: Son of George Mackie; born Insch, 7 November 1869. M.B., 1891. Commissioned, 1st Kings Shropshire Light Infantry (Volunteer Battalion), 1895; Surgeon-Lieutenant, Shropshire Royal Horse Artillery, 1900. Mobilized, August 1914. Home service, 1914-15; transferred to Territorial Reserve, October 1915. Final rank, Major. War work-Surgeon, Military Hospital Wellington.
