Biography: Son of William Stewart; born Ballindalloch, 11 March 1892. M.A., 1913; B.Sc. (Agr.), 1913. Edinburgh University Officer Training Corps Enlisted, 2nd Lovat's Scouts Yeomanry, 1915; commissioned, 1916. Served- Home, 1915-17; Egypt, Palestine, February 1917-February 1918; Egyptian Army, Sudan, February 1918-March 1919. Final rank, Lieutenant.
