Biography: Son of James S. Stewart; born Rathen, 21 June 1890. M.B., 1913. Commissioned, R.A.M.C., August 1914. Attached to 1st Scots Guards and Field Ambulance. Served-France, Home, August 1914-October 1918. Final rank, Captain. Military Cross, 1916. Two mentions in despatches.
